Wally Lewis steps aside from 9News Queensland
By Neeraja Gopalakrishnan in Media News on Tuesday, 24th January 2023 at 5:07pmNine network has announced that Sports presenter Wally Lewis will step aside from the 9News Queensland desk in 2023 to pursue opportunities within the 9Network on new and existing community and charity initiatives.
Lewis said he will take more of a “backseat role in the studio” but will continue to keep the listeners up to date on the highs and lows of local international sport and his weekly NRL tips.
“My health has made decisions for me in the past so it’s my turn to make decisions for my health,” he said.
“Beyond 9News, I’ll continue to call WWOS home, and there are some special Nine programs in the pipeline that I’m also ready to tackle alongside my ongoing involvement with the QRL and FOGS (Former Origin Greats). It’s safe to say that no two weeks in my cal...
