Kablan kicks off at Ticker News

Award-winning multiplatform journalist Omer Kablan has commenced as an anchor and producer at Ticker News.  Kablan will be presenting news and current affairs shows and producing multiplatform content, covering world news and providing in-depth reports.  Founder of The Ticker Company Ahron Young announced the appointment of Kablan on his LinkedIn page saying that he joins the company with an extensive experience as a global reporter and anchor.  “Big things are coming to Ticker!” said Young.  Prior to joining Ticker News, he was an EP and host of the current affairs program Double Check at TRT. He has also held various positions at the broadcaster for more than seven years.  Kablan’s career began as an assistant news producer at Anadolu agency, where he produced news and organized interviews.   

‘Stef’ Macfie lands at Hobart

Radio announcer Stephanie ‘Stef’ Macfie has returned after maternity leave to SCA Hobart’s Hit100.9 and 107.3 Triple M stations as assistant content director and afternoons announcer.  Macfie said that she is proud to be a part of a company that supports women returning to work.  “SCA has given me the opportunity to upskill during my maternity leave and facilitated returning to a city I love and a team I’m honoured to be a part of,” Macfie said.  SCA Hobart Content Director, Phil Bradley said that the team is excited to welcome ‘Stef’ back to the team.  “Our whole team will benefit from her vision and leadership style, enhancing our local audio across multiple platforms into the second half of 2022 and beyond,” Bradley said.  Macfie has more than a decade of commercial radio experience across various stations. Collective Hub is back to print

Founder and editor-in-chief Lisa Messenger has revealed that the print magazine Collective Hub is returning to print after almost a four-year hiatus. It was earlier announced that the magazine would cease its print in March 2018, followed by its revival with a one-off edition in 2019. Messenger’s LinkedIn post read that the magazine is back after a four-year suspension.  “Reimagined! For all you thought leaders, game changers, rule breakers and style makers, this one is for you!!” she said.   The new reimagined edition of the magazine is described on the website as a “mook”. “Not quite a magazine. not quite a book. Inside you will find game changers, thought leaders, rule breakers and style makers from every corner of the globe,” the website describes. The new issue is available for $89.99. Further details about the new edition are yet to be revealed.   

Leigh starts at AWW

Paige Leigh has commenced as a market editor at The Australian Women’s Weekly.  Prior to joining the magazine, Leigh was an assistant to the director of fashion at The Australian Financial Review for more than 4 years. She was also an assistant stylist at Hogarth Australia.  Leigh has held various production roles across networks including Network 10, Seven and Keeper and the Hounds Productions.  She has also worked as a presenter across Waves, Surfing NSW, and Seven and Ten Networks.  Leigh’s appointment is effective immediately.  

Neville steps up at Mamamia

Lucy Neville has been promoted to the role of senior creative producer at Mamamia.  In her new role, Neville will manage the execution of all creative for Mamamia’s consumer-facing events.  Neville was a creative producer at the outlet most recently. Prior to that, she was a host of the podcast The Undone, assistant producer of No Filter with Mia Freedman and executive assistant, office manager and tour producer. Apart from that, she has run her own business alongside partnering Sass records for more than 7 years. She has also helmed management and administration roles at the NSW Department of education previously. Neville begins her new role immediately.  

Mansour departs Are Media

Chanelle Mansour has departed Are Media to join fitness-tech company Fitilion as communications and social media specialist.  Mansour has moved away from her most recent role as a digital content producer from Are Media where she worked across Now to Love, Australian Women’s Weekly, Who, New Idea (incorporating New Idea Food), TV Week and Woman’s Day.  Prior to that, she worked as a content creator and social media and content executive at Prospector.  She has also worked for Western Sydney University in editorial roles and has attended journalism and production internship across One Mandate Group, SBS, CulturalPulse and Pacific magazines. Mansour commences her new role immediately.   

SCA Mackay appoints new GM

SCA Mackay market has appointed Nik Stuart as its new general manager. Stuart will lead the SCA Mackay team including Triple M 98.7 Mackay/The Whitsundays and Hit 100.3 Mackay/ The Whitsundays.
