Journalist Richard Baker has announced that he will soon depart The Age to establish his own audio business.  Baker is a senior investigative reporter at the masthead for nearly 23 years.  Baker will establish his own audio business Southern Ocean Media, and release a podcast series initially.  His final day at The Age will be Friday, 30th September.  

ABC Goulburn Murray’s first and only breakfast host Matt Dowling has signed off for the final time after 17 years on-air.  The outgoing presenter said that he was conscious of the “challenge” of being the first presenter in the town and he took it as he felt radio is ”a very pure form of communication”.  "I really had thoughts of just coming to Shepparton to learn a bit and then go back to Melbourne and hopefully find some work there but 17 years later and here I am," Dowling said. Trudy McIntosh has been promoted to the role of a senior political reporter at Sky News Australia. Prior to taking up the role, she was a political reporter at Sky News and has been with the channel for the past eight years.  She has held various positions including executive producer of AM Agenda, News, programs producer, AM digital leader, digital producer and video journalist. McIntosh was a breakfast newsreader at RTRFM 92.1 and reporter/presenter at 89.7 FM.
